MP Hoang Mai condemns
mismanagement of Child Benefit Program
OTTAWA — NDP MP Hoang Mai (Brossard–La Prairie)
today condemned the Conservative government’s incompetent and ineffective management of
Revenue Canada’s Child Benefit Program, saying that it has cost vulnerable
families $50 million.
“How could
such a mess go unnoticed by the department?” asked Mr. Mai, reacting to
media reports released today.
Question on Child Tax Benefit

Mr. Hoang Mai (MP Brossard-La Prairie):
With regard to environmental assessment on the proposed new bridge on the St. Lawrence River at Montreal:

(b) what type of assessment will this project be subject to, under the new regulations and changes to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act as proposed in bill C-38;
OTTAWA — MP Hoang Mai (Brossard–La Prairie), NDP National Revenue Critic, is proud of the success of Tackle Tax Havens, a event organized in cooperation with Canadians for Tax Fairness. Held earlier this week in Ottawa, the well-attended session brought together MPs, senators and experts to kick off the national campaign to fight tax havens.
Because of its fly-by-the-seat-of-its-pants approach and its less-than-transparent management of the Champlain bridge project, the Conservative government has missed a unique opportunity to establish strong ties with the South Shore community.
